This is our reimagination of the Marinière introduced to the French Navy in 1858 as a uniform. The stripes were designed to help sailors be more visible in the water if they fell overboard, as well as to help them blend in with the waves when viewed from a distance. Our Breton Shirt has a fitted, elongated body with higher armholes and side slits for easy movement.
